Our niche is Financial Services. We specialize in teaching financial advisors, insurance agents, and financial service companies how to best combine Social Media and traditional marketing techniques. By Utilizing social networking sites such as LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook and others we have developed proven systems that increase revenue, decrease marketing expenses, and improve customer support.

Additionally, with numerous concerns around compliance and social media, we equip companies with the tools and knowledge needed to implement a successful social media strategy.

Amy McIlwain, President

Amy McIlwain

Entrepreneur, author, speaker, and worldwide connector, Amy McIlwain is recognized internationally for radical new ways of thinking about Social Media, PR, marketing, advertising, and customer service. A former NCAA Division I Soccer player, Amy started building and designing Websites back in the late 1990s. She spent the past 6 years in the financial industry selling advertising space for the Senior Market Advisor brand and consulting for top insurance companies on various media vehicles.

As the marketing landscape shifted from traditional to Social Media, Amy saw the increasing value of social networks in their ability to connect with clients and prospects.

As a result, Amy launched Financial Social Media in 2010 which specifically addresses the compliance issues surrounding social media and the financial industry. With her unique background in both online marketing and financial services Amy knows which media vehicles work and the marketing language needed to deliver results.

Amy continues to teach others about the power of Social Media marketing and has conducted several live trainings and webinars for thousands of people worldwide. Additionally, her content has been featured in several top financial industry publications, blogs, websites, and books.

Outside of work Amy’s passion lies in travel. She has visited over 22 countries and spent time living in both Spain and Australia. One of her lifetime goals is to explore all seven continents.

Heidi Williams, Creative Director

Heidi Williams

With in-depth knowledge and skills in the areas of web, print, and interactive media production, Heidi serves as an integral part of the Financial Social Media team by utilizing her experience and history in graphic design and technology to manage and design creative projects.

Her proficiency in a multitude of developer programs including PhotoShop, Illustrator, Flash and Dreamweaver, as well as an advanced knowledge in HTML, XML and CSS give her the tools necessary to develop high-quality, superior products for our clients. Couple that with her project history of web page designs, special event notices, flash elements, advertisements, promotional materials, photo corrections and brand designs, Heidi is a superior component to the creative success of Financial Social Media.

Morgan Wendlandt, Director of Consulting Services

Morgan Wendlandt

It was the combination of a love for writing, a background in marketing, and affinity toward outdoor activities that drew Morgan from Wisconsin to Financial Social Media. She joined the FSM team after graduating Summa Cum Laude from Indiana State University with a degree in Marketing and Creative Writing. She combines her creative mind with determined analytical thinking to improve on and, create new, ideas and processes for our clients.

In addition to her studies, Morgan was a four year starter on the Indiana State Women’s soccer team from which she earned a nomination for NCAA National Woman of the Year. Her commitment to both athletics and academics has given her the skills needed to excel in the fast paced world of social media. Her passion for the written word has led to her work being featured in several fiction and non-fiction publications in recent years. This experience has allowed her to create engaging and innovative content both for Financial Social Media and our clients.

Outside of her nine-to-five, Morgan enjoys many of the new outdoor opportunities afforded to her by her move to Denver. As an avid fisher-woman, it’s her goal to dip her fly rod in each one of the area’s lakes and streams, but overall, no matter the sport, Morgan is game for any activity.

Kerry Olson, Project Manager

As the Project Manager at Financial Social Media, Kerry continuously works with new clients to build effective social media strategies to increase visibility and improve their overall marketing campaigns. Every client receives a pristine product and education on the power of social media in the context of today’s financial markets.

After graduating from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Kerry spent a year traveling across the country as a Collegiate Development Consultant for a large women’s organization. As a CDC, she travelled to universities large and small educating collegiate women on personal & leadership development, effective networking, positive branding and image, and public relations through successful social media strategies. After a year of life on the road and way too much time spent in airport security lines, she decided to settle in the Greater Denver Area in the Fall of 2012, and joined the Financial Social Media team as Project Manager.

As a Minnesota native, Kerry has always been passionate about the outdoors and continues that love by spending her free time exploring Colorado, hiking and skiing. She is an avid traveler, adventure seeker and foody, and is easily motivated by meeting new people and networking!

Loic is the Online Marketing Manager at Advisor Websites where he helps financial services professionals grow their online market. He is in charge of the sales and marketing department: sourcing and generating new prospects and partners; helping clients build credible and long lasting brands using professional websites, offline and online marketing initiatives; increasing traffic and conversion rate on company’s websites. Finally, Loic is spearheading the US and French markets expansions. Loic is a member of the Financial Planning Association® (FPA®) and received his Inbound Marketing Certificate with honors.
