Social media is dead. “Wait, what?! My company just got a Facebook page.” Don’t panic. Social media 1.0 is dead because it’s evolving into a new form. There’s a transformation underway that’s moving social toward a more integrated digital strategy as traditional paid, owned and earned media channels converge.
While the 1.0 version may be dead, social is not going away. Far from it. Social media is moving from the sidelines of communications to the very center of this new digital world, touching and influencing every aspect of communication. In fact, social media has evolved from “nice to have” to “can’t live without,” serving as the primary distribution channel for content marketing.
We’ve seen the explosion of digital media in recent years. Forward-looking companies are relying on integrated media campaigns that weave together both online and offline communication to engage customers and prospects. Social media plays a key role in this engagement, of course, but now a more sophisticated approach is being adopted as companies leverage customer data in combination with digital tools that allow them to reach the right audience, with the right message, at the right time.
This is such an exciting time to be in marketing. With change comes opportunity, and the opportunity is limitless. And with this evolution it’s time for Financial Social Media to evolve as well.
That being said, I’m thrilled to announce that Financial Social Media has been acquired by Moore Communications Group (MCG).
Founded in 1992 and headquartered in Florida, Moore Communications Group is a national integrated communications firm with a client portfolio that includes Bank of America, Ford Motor Company and Eli Lilly. It’s known for developing everything from full-scale branding campaigns to advertising to public relations to crisis communications and more. This acquisition unites the power of paid, owned and earned media under one roof, sparking integrated media campaigns that amplify client results. You can learn more about the acquisition in this press release.
The team at MCG is awesome and I’m super excited to be part of it, serving as VP of Digital and Social Strategy. We’ll continue to build and grow the Denver office, adding to MCG’s national footprint with offices in Tallahassee, West Palm Beach and New Orleans.
For all of you who have followed and supported me on this journey — thank you. I believe entrepreneurship is one of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves as it encourages personal growth and helps us realize our full potential. This company was no exception.
Through the highs and lows it’s been an amazing ride and I can’t wait to see what the next chapter brings. I’m crazy excited about all the opportunities in digital right now and with Moore Communications Group’s expert team 40 deep I’m ready to redefine the way companies market their business.
Join us! This story is just getting started.
